The Big Rock |
This picture is part of a series of hyperstereo photographs taken in the last 7 or 8 years - this one was taken in Feb 2008. Using this technique the rock becomes visible in 3D, which would be otherwise impossible given the lack of actual depth perception at the given distance (appx. 500m) The image is mounted on a sheet of translucent plexi and mounted over a hole in the wall of the same size that allows natural light to illuminate it from behind. This in turn gives a uncanny impression of a changing ambience, dipping the scene in different kinds of light and intensity. |
